A beautiful beach, it's really long and had interesting sand. The sand is a bit hard, not your soft blocky sand. The water was literally warm.
Along the left you got large stones to go crab hunting. The shower amenity was actually really good quality must be new or something. I did not see a bathroom.
I liked that the trees provided a generous amount of shade on the sand.
Short walk from the centre of Port Douglas. Long and wide beach with plenty of space for everyone. Beach umbrella and chair hire available. Very gentle waves suitable for children. Patrolled swimming area near the main entrance to the beach area.
Very open, plenty of space. Pretty remarkable views… palm cove 1 star better, but definitely worth the visit
This beach is amazing! The length of it is incredible and it’s such a relaxing place to visit.
It’s so cool to see all the burrowing crabs and the little sand balls they make.
While you’re in Port Douglas, walking, riding, or relaxing on the beach is one of the best parts.
There is an area near the main street (Macrossan Street) where you can hire an umbrella and chairs (but you need cash). You can use these for as long as you like and it’s a really great experience.
Definitely recommend visiting this beautiful beach! I also recommend staying nearby while in Port Douglas - my preferred location is “Number 2 On The Beach” which is just a few steps from the sand!! 👌🏼
Very nice beach for a walk, not much of a shore to play. The water is not ideal for swimming as there are jellyfishes.
Not a sandy beach and very limited enclosure for swimming due to stingers. Flagstaff walking trail provides nice views.
Stunning! Beautiful! Gorgeous! Definitely a must if you visit Port Douglas! The water is clear and fresh, the rock pools hide all sorts of sea creatures!
Beautiful beach with a long sandy stretch to walk along or sun bake. Clean area with amenities and cafes near by. Lifeguarded section for safe swimming. We hired tubes from a guy on the beach who had a selection of equipment like boogie boards, sand play toys, and boards. Kids and I loved it!! Water a little murky not sure if that's normal or due to a bit of rough weather we'd had the day before.
